Business confidence came in at 45.3 in May, up from April’s 44.1 and marking a two-year high. However, the index remained below the 50-point threshold, indicating pessimism among businesses.
May’s rise was driven by improved sentiment in the construction and industrial sectors, as sentiment in the retail and mining sectors ebbed slightly.
